Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, and its subsidiary Mitsubishi-Kagaku Foods Corp., are the world's leading producers and suppliers of sucrose fatty acid esters (SE). They will be exhibiting their high performance SURHOPE SE PHARMA emulsifiers for use in pharmaceutical systems. Because of their chemical structure, SE have unique functionality compared with other emulsifiers. As a lubricant for tablet production, SE can give tablets with good disintegration properties. Also SE have almost no reactivity to medicinal actives, unlike Mg-stearate. Strong hydration by OH group leads to heat stable emulsions.
